Week of 8/18/03:
This was a long week for email in general. You had 2 viruses spreading at a rapid pace and DOS attacks crippling servers that had just woken up from a black out. On top of that some people even reported getting spam from Howard Dean. I hate spam, but better spam from Dean than legislation. Anyway it was a surprisingly slow week for me as far as Spam. I did get a lot but not much that strayed from the usual (i.e. prescriptions, porn, insurance, weight loss and eliminate your debt emails).
I gotta admit foreigners' butchering of the English language really makes me laugh. For instance, ever notice how Chinese menus read 'Apperizers' or take out is called 'take away?'. Anyway this spammer woos us with his / her own mastery of the English language as he / she tries to entice us to try a helping of his sticky rice. While offensive, this email was easier to swallow than your average helping of chicken feet. The misspellings cracked me up
